A wheat farm has become a field of dreams for one woman from Ohio. Jason Kahle used his dad's wheat field and 20-foot-tall plastic letters to spell out the words "Aleasha, marry me?" on top of the harvested wheat. Jason then used his dad's airplane to take his bride-to-be over the field so she could read the message. 23-year old Aleasha Decker said she was excited and stunned to see the message spelled out in the field. She thought they were taking the flight to take pictures of some homes in the area. After Aleasha spotted the message, she turned to find Jason with a ring. The couple is planning to get married next year. -- Courtesy HisKids.net (2009-08-21)

It's a roller coaster for the digital generation. People these days are used to programming their own playlists on MP3 players, iPods, and even their phones. Now, they can play DJ on the new roller coaster at Florida's Universal Orlando. The new Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit allows riders to choose from about 30 songs in five genres, including rap, country, and rock. The ride was originally supposed to open in the spring. But it took several extra months to work out the bugs with the new technology. The Rockit isn't just fun for the ears, it's fun for the rest of the body too. It features the world's largest non-inverted loop and can be seen from all across the park. -- Courtesy HisKids.net (2009-08-20)

You've probably heard of mega-churches, but how about a mini church? Reverend Stuart Dornfeld has created a model of his Emanuel Lutheran church out of Legos. More than 12,000 of the plastic blocks and 72 hours of work went into the little version of the Brandon, Wisconsin, house of worship. And if you look closely, you'll see some unusual touches. The Reverend Dornfeld has put SpongeBob SquarePants, Indiana Jones and Batman inside his Lego church. And the Batmobile is parked outside. -- Courtesy HisKids.net (2009-08-19)

It might be tough to think about the Winter Olympics during the dog days of summer. But Torin Koos can't let a little thing like the lack of snow interrupt his training for the 2010 Winter Games in Vancouver. He's a member of the U.S cross-country ski team. He and some teammates are training with roller skis in the area around Oregon's Mount Bachelor. The skiers say roller skis come close to the snow variety, but with a few key differences. One skier says it hurts a lot more to fall on pavement than on snow. And the roller skis also have brakes, which is something the snow skis definitely don't have. -- Courtesy HisKids.net (2009-08-03)
